I believe "awesomenicity" sums it up quite nicely.

Thanks, guys. It was a fun project. Had to re-do the dot markers on the side of the neck, and actually the whole neck was blended
across the back.

When I do a project like this, the whole bass gets disassembled down to a bare body, because in the case of a newish instrument such as this, I will re-buff the entire body to match the new work. Then, you know, it's Zymol time...

Anybody want to try a MID fretboard? A "blueneck"? Hmmmm...

Paul, is that an ebony fretboard? Or the original board finished in black?

It's the original repainted in JetGlo.....and it is flawless.

Can you do this one Paul?:

I'm going to be in Las Vegas (for business) for about three weeks starting this Wednesday. I am really intrigued over the idea of a "Blueneck". We could talk more about it off-Forum if you'd like.

Paul offered to do it the "correct way" by pulling the frets, painting then refretting but the additional cost led me to go with the "mask and paint" option. I really can't see how it could look any better than how it came out. I'd have no hesitation having a neck refinished the same way again.

The "BlueNeck" would be cool but it would be a shame to cover that wonderful maple fretboard!
