Thanks Mark. Whilst there is no "Rick" connection to this thread, it's nice to have an "Aussie" one.

Interesting that they are so expensive in the US compared to here. The opposite of the norm for a change...... Image

Yup, sometimes "Ricks" completely disappear anyway.
There are pages of posts somewhere else here about Elton John!
Tommy is such an amazing guitar player I think the forum members would be interested to know about him (if they don't already).

Hmmm... and no beer! Image But a cool photo, anyway.
In fact, when i was speakin' about the color match, i meant something like this (sorry for using my character, it's just easier to show it this way):

Oops... not enough red on the guitar in my picture...Image

'Ow did I miss this thread???

Aitch, that's a v. kool little guy you've got there (the guitar, I mean...)

I predict that within a year, a good number of us will be willing to get things up and running, to post more mp3s.

This, of course is self-serving...I'd love to hear that sweet little Maton.

Thanks, Paul. I reckon it's pretty cool myself. Interestingly, the guy I bought it from hadn't played it much. He's a film maker as well as a muso and he bought it mainly as a 'retro' prop!

Gotcha, Sheena!

Nice pic Aitch. Nice guitar. It's too bad that you won't be bringing it with you as originally planned. I'll settle for a sound byte or two though.

Paul, with respect to posting MP3's, there seems to be little interest on this forum to listen to recordings made by forum members. I find that strange since the forum is populated by a great number of working musicians. Debate about guitars and basses can run into 50 or more posts whereas I have noticed that comments on posted MP3's peter out at about 20 posts.

Thanks, Brian. I've yet to really get stuck into the intricacies of recording with Cakewalk but I will very soon.

Strange, but... one possible explanation is the following - you know, everybody have their own tastes in music, sometimes very different, and IMHO, it's hard to say to a fellow forum member that you don't really like his work... The other thing is that a) music files take time to download, and for those who don't have speedy connection, downloading a 5-Mb mp3 file is a bit of a trouble; b) many members are posting from the office where there's little or no possibility to listen to the music...

I'd love to start posting my recordings. Tried on myspace, but I can't figure it out. Anybody care to offer some advice? We could probably fill a whole topic with mp3s.

Hey, congrats, Aitch--your new baby looks really cool! Image

Interesting observations about MP3's.... Personally, I would love to hear sound clips from different Forum members--I think it would be cool to hear what kinds of things people are doing with their Rics!

Eventually I would love to put together a collection of Forumites' CD's as they are made available.... Maybe somebody should start a thread with sound clips and links to buy CD's. Could be kind of fun!

Melissa, there's a thread titled "Myspace users", with lots of links to sound clips in bass section... (i spent several hours today listening to the forum members' stuffImage)

I guess Yousendit.com is the best bet for mp3s, otherwise why would Roy use it?
