Good luck, Edgar. (I was thinking about bidding, but because I live in California, there would be 7.75% sales tax added, and that would push the price way up for me.)

Chris,
Thanks! Yup, I'm in the market for a player so as to get as much mileage out it as possible and something to fix up to my liking. Of course, I prefer the WB over the regular.
Graham,
Thanks! I sent you an e-mail.
Gary,
Thanks. I hope I do get it and IF I do, I'm going need a person to help bring her back to life. Any recommendations?

The WBs are the better looking version, and I am not biased at all about that!
Well, maybe somewhat biased.
A player would be great, I have had mine since '73 and it does go out and play with me. In fact it may be at the Erie, Pa. gig next Saturday night at Porter's Restaurant & Tap Room.

As nice as the WB looks already, it would have looked even sharper with double checkered binding! Wonder why they didn't put it on the 4005?

I wondered about that, too.

Marc,
Thank you very much. Now, anyone know who I can send it to for repair?

Great score Edgar! What exactly would you like repaired on it?
Dale Bruce Fortune immediatley comes to mind, and perhaps Mr. Curmudge as well.

John,
The crack on the back, the fretboard and refretting. If the neck needs to be reset and fixed. Redo the binding.
These are off the top of my head.
I need to get a case made for it. I saw that Detemple can custom make cases so I might go with that with a tolex cover instead of faux alligator hide. Unless anyone knows where I can get a silver tolex case or get one made.

Jeffrey,
BINGO! Have you ever had a case made for a 4005 by this vendor? Based on the picture, I don't think the off-the-shelf case can fit a 4005.

Congrats, Edgar! Welcome to the "club".....
I've seen work done by both Dale Fortune and Paul Wilczynski(The Curmudgeon)...you can't go wrong with either one.....but rest assured, either would be able to take care of your 4005 in the best possible way.
