Jeff - you sneaky guy! That looks pretty cool. The '68 just has a charm about it, doesn't it? The wider inlays and checkerboard binding are just right. I have grown to prefer the bindingless S bodies, but with the double binding it is a different story.

That '68 was my main bass from 1973 to 2001 ... now it is too cool to leave the house ...
The guys in my band haven't even seen that one ...
Even people who don't like Rics have to say gee what a pretty bass ...
I am mainly into 5 string basses these days ... so the old '68 don't get played too much ...

Jeff, that is a very nice 1968 4001.. I especially like the transitional cover surrounding the horseshoe pickup. I wish my 1972 looked that clean and was more original than it is right now....
