Hey, what's with you guys? A Pistols thread and an XTC thread? Two of my all-time favorite bands, and no mention of Geddy in either. Gotta love it!!
The only gig I wish I'd cancelled: My punk band had a gig in South Texas the night the Pistols played San Antone, my best friend went.
I got to see XTC on tour with The Police in the 80s.

Ronn: I got a cool DVD-R entitled 'XTC - At The Manor' last week. It depicts the band at Richard Branson's (Virgin Records founder) Manor Studio (an old country house) recording 'Towers Of London' during the summer of 1980. It shows the step-by-step recording process. It was originally broadcast on British television. Very interesting...

Randy is that commercially available? I have a great VHS I need to get put on DVD, it's a complete XTC concert, circa "English Settlement". It's from a European TV program, and looks/sounds great.

Ronn: I think the video you have is from the German Rockpalast television program. It basically contains an entire 'English Settlement' set recorded live in front of a studio audience. I have it also on DVD-R entitled 'Sandwiches And Submarines'. Additionally, I have their 1982 video compilation 'Look Look' on DVD-R. I will email you off-line with my source for these and many other interesting videos.

Ronn: Your profile address didn't work but your new one did. I think I was posting while you were providing the new one. Sorry about the confusion...

Guys - large files and variable quality, but fascinating videos and sounds for those who love XTC.

Man, what a shame that there is some available from 80-81 and then some from 89. There are so many years not represented by live performances.
