Gerry, I don't have a MB, but it is a real nice finish. One that will probably grow warmer over the years.

MB is neither a new name or a new finish. Used to be called "Two Tone Brown" in the old days, but real similar to MB. The name "Montezuma Brown" used to be a solid chocolate brown color.
To me, it is a lovely new/old finish.

I had a Montezuma Brown and a Mapleglo 360/12. We just didn't love each other enough. So I had to divorce them...

Paul, I think that MB is a great color, but you need gold pick guards and trc to make it look its best! If I'am not mistaken wasn't the "Two Tone Brown" the original FG and later red was added to become the color we know now. I seem to remember reading that, maybe in one of the Ric books. MB definitely has that '50 Ric look.

Mark, I agree and I realize that different players like ceratin colors. What I was asking in my original post I guess is, what is your favorite color and why and/or if you were looking to buy a new Ric would the color matter to you or would you not care?

Thanks Charles.
To answer question, FG is favorite color with MG second. And yes, as I mentioned above, color (and other factors) are VERY important.
Others have stated that FG used look better years ago. This I do not know.
In another thread, Paul W. mentioned that FG is now more like Pink. And he's right.
But my FG spends about half its time outside the case and it has gotten darker and looks better.
I also hope (as Paul has also mentioned) that the MG will get darker in time.
Since the primary image in my head and in my past of 360/12s is of McGuinn and Kantner and since they both played MGs, I'm sure that it is a strong factor in my preference.

IMHO, I really don't think color is really too important for me even though a dark Fireglo is my favorite RIC color. I currently own a Fireglo 4001, used to own a Fireglo 330, and used to own a Jetglo 4003. If I were to go buy a new Ric from what my local dealer has in stock, I would pick a Fireglo if they had one. If they were down to their last Ric in the model I want but different color, I'd still buy it. In other words, I haven't met a Ric with a color I dislike yet.

I absolutely love my 360/6 in Midnight Blue. The Blueburst also looks nice, but if I wanted a second guitar I would vote for a Paul Weller Red instead.

Colour is important, but it's not a deal breaker for me. FG is my least favourite. JG would be my first choice of the regular colours, all else equal, with MG a close second. I love the Blueburst and the Ruby they used to make is very nice.
I also think the greenglo on Ed Roman's site is gorgeous, but I'd be afraid that I would grow tired of it. Does that make sense?

I'm working on a Tangerineglo (burst) custom color refinish for a customer, and the color has to be seen to be believed. I've just sprayed up some sample chips and the job should be done in a few weeks.
This is a color I've never seen on a Rick (or any other guitar, has anyone else?) and it is beautifully suited for a Rickenbacker, without going over the top.
I'l post pictures soon. Should be fun to see what computer monitors and digital photography do to this one...

I've thought that a translucent milky white to gray to black would be cool. A monochromeglo! If I ever find a cheap beat up 330 with black trim, I think I'll send it Paul's way. This assumes that my wife agrees to another guitar, of course!

I love the FG finishes. My 360/12/is FG. My 650D is natural. When it comes to Rickenbackers ( or any other guitar for that matter) color does not make or break the deal......How it plays, however does. Never met a Rickenbacker I did not like.

"Tangerine, she is all they claim
With her eyes of night and lips as bright as flame
Tangerine, when she dances by, senoritas stare and caballeros sigh
And I've seen toasts to Tangerine
Raised in every bar across the Argentine
Yes, she has them all on the run, but her heart belongs to just one
Her heart belongs to Tangerine"

Five of my 10 Ricks are Fireglo - mainly due to circumstances rather than choice. Like Tony Carey I prefer the 'darker' 90s FG finishes. I really love Montezuma Brown and there's a stunning 620/6 in that finish only a few miles from me..... $2700 AUD. Aaarrgghh!! I'm
sooooooo tempted!
I think tangerine would be a stunning finish, Paul and I'm sure you'll do it brlliantly. Have you had any further thoughts on Copperglo?
