Hmmm... jammin' in a can... sleeping in the sand... won'dring where's the band at half past ten... oh wait... that's a different meaning of this word, right?..

Ok Howard, mission accepted. The strings exploded right on cue. Jammin' in the Can as a song. Maybe the best effort would be a combination of contributions. Jammin' in the Cans of the World. Image This is just too funny.

I kind of liked Melissa's idea about naming a CD that. Very Kevin Wilsonesque though. I promise to keep my song lyrics just a little less, umm, colorful as Kevin Wilson tends to be.

I'm sure any and all forum efforts could be unveiled in Toronto in September, so go for it Melissa!

Hmmm. Confluence jam recordings, a new trend?

Right Sheena. Here it refers to the bathroom, while in many other places it refers to the actual toilette.

Best reverb available, IMO, is found playing in a well tiled bathroom.

Of course the main challenge is going to be playing and singing the song without breaking into spontaneous laughter!

Oooooooh, this IS going to be FUN!!!! Image

Since the idea was conceived in this thread, I will use the 481....but I don't think I'll actually be able to record it in the bathroom, LOL! Image

I have an idea for a song (mean, a "plot") but cannot put it into right words...Image

Why not put some laughter in the lyrics, Melissa? That may solve the problem....... Image

I have the chords and structure of the song in my head. Once I've got some lyrics together I'll tab it and have a crack at some recording with Cakewalk. Programming the drum machine will be a real challenge - never done it before.

What??? Real the manual?? You must be kidding!! Image

Okay....I've gotta go start writing my tune, LOL!

In my mind this has got to be a blues song--a really, really corny one!

Actually, I've got a good reason to be playin'/singin' the blues today, as my husband and both kids are sick with the flu--and have been for three days now! Image

Will try to fight off any viral attacks upon myself with laughter and music, and herbal tea, too! Image

Sorry to hear that, Melibee. Please pass on my best to the boys.

Blues.... yes, could be something along the lines of "When Love Comes To Town" or "Keep Your Hands To Yourself". Mine is sort of "Rockin' Blues" if you know what I mean.

Just don't smoke the herbal tea, eh? Image

Song title ideas:

"Put the Seat Down Blues"
"No More Paper in the Roll"
"Bad Aim Blues"

Hey look, YOU guys started this, not me.

Thanks, Aitch....

I think it's too late....I feel myself succumbing to it, even though I am sucking on a zinc lozenge and awaiting my third cup of echinacea tea to start boiling.... I do not want to get this flu; it's a nasty one and I can't afford to be out of commission for the next three or four days.... I've been the one keeping it all together (sort of) for the last three!

At least it's not the stomach flu....

Gawd! Well, if you do go down in a screaming heap, let's hope hubby has recovered enough to take care of you, Melissa.

Alan: How about "Toilet Duck Blue Butt Blues"? Nah... it's gotta be "Jammin' In The Can" - the original!

Oh well... i doubt it's worth even bothering correcting my mistakes, but here it goes...
-------
That was a night... oh, what a night! The best i've ever had!
We were so cool, we were so hot, the kids were going mad.
We played for them the best we could, they loved us - that's the truth.
We went back to the good ol' days, together with the youth.
Them shiny eyes, them cheering smiles - no tears, no pain, no fear.
A kind of magic all around was flowing like the beer.
The lights of sparkling cigarettes, like stars up in the sky.
No need to fight, no lonely hands, no need to question why.
You cannot tell just how it feels until you feel the same -
Those cheeky boys, those silly girls, all whispering your name.
Forgetting 'bout their daily grief and teachers in the school,
They are together, they are one, they're great, they're hot, they're cool!
***
We started playing the "encore" to please the kids around
And suddenly the lights were off, together with the crowd.
I looked around just wondering what happened to the band...
...And then i found myself alone and jammin' in a can...
