Jacob, I've kind of grown up. A few of my idols use them or have used them. Steve Harris, Roger Waters, Geezer Butler and Geddy for one album. I want one, but it's not at the top of my list. I'll probably just get one to hang on the wall.

You guys liked it then? I have the video soundtrack on a cd somewhere, so I listen to it from time to time. Been a while since I've watched it though.

I had a badly-dubbed VHS copy of Exit Stage Left when I was in high school. Nate, when you said you have a video soundtrack, it reminded me that I made a cassette recording of it that sounded terrible! The video had been copied so many times the hiss was almost as loud as the music. But I listened to it over and over.

I'm really excited because it looks like they're finally going to release all the concert videos on DVD! Exit Stage Left is at the top of my list, but that Bass Player Magazine article says they're also going to put out All the World's a Stage. I didn't even know there was a film of that! I'm kind of interested in checking that out.

Just watched the video...
Is it me, or is this very close to Spinal Tap?
(Ducking......!)

That video is the reason I picked up bass in the first place.

Same here! The bass tone on ESL is THE best I've ever heard. Squire's great, but Ged's Rick playing kicks ***!!!!

It would be very interesting to see, but I think that must be a mistake. There is some B&W footage kicking around from December 76 .

What is rumoured to be in pipeline, as well as the previous concert videos (ESL, A Show of Hands & Grace Under Pressure Tour) is the previously shelved Different Stages video. As well as this, Geddy has now said that they shouldn't have cut songs from the R30 DVD and that the missing ones may well be released sometime in the future.

The difference between Rush and Spinal Tap (besides the vastly more talented members of Rush) is that when Rush are being ridiculous, they know it, and they're doing it on purpose because it's fun. Spinal Tap were ridiculous because it was poking fun at bands who were ridiculous and didn't realize it.

I always got a chuckle out of the finger-pointy-waggy thing they do in that clip.

Tried that with our guitarist a couple of months ago during By-Tor and got a very bewildered look, eventually followed by one single definite gesture. Image Turned out he didn't remember seeing that on the ESL video.

I love how those guys can mess with each other during a show. Like when Alex grabs Geddy's nose. Classic.

Geddy said on an interview with VH1 recently that there was no footage of the "All The World's A Stage" concerts. The host was saying how that was his favorite live Rush album and was hoping how someday they might release that, but it is not to be, unless it is other footage.

Looks like Bass Player Mag goofed pretty bad! I'm happy with Exit Stage Left...

There is no "All the World's a Stage" video. It should have been the video shoot from the Grace Under Pressure tour. The other footage that may make it onto a DVD is the Test for Echo tour. Strangely, I was at both tours (GUP and T4E) while they were filming here in Toronto, so I would like to get those DVD's and tell my kids Daddy was at both concerts.

I think the ESL footage is the best...RUSH at their prime. The polarized filming sucked though!!
