Ashley,
E mail me at my addy and I'll send you some from there.
I think it was added later possibly, after Maurice had let the bass go. I remember seeing a '69 MG 360 (I think..) on eBay UK a few years ago, and it too had a perspex cover on the back, to protect the finish, which lead me to believe they may have both been owned by the same individual back in the day.

I thought there were some photo's floating around of Maurice with an all white Rick somewhere, but this one is unique. Looks like the photographer was on the stage. Man, where is that bass now?
Better yet, what happened to the shirt? (sorry)
I should scan some pics of myself from the 60's. My grandmother used to buy me Peter Max bell sleeve shirts. Pants with different color pockets, apache ties etc. Not that she was so hip, but the boutique she would buy the clothes from was. Wish I had that stuff today...although it'd be a wee bit small...

Andy, someday I'll hope to get high-res shots of the white 1999 for the book!

No, but I shot some of my own to include in the book. Wints brought the Gibb 1999 to the SERF get together in 2009 where I shot nice hi-res portraits. They will be in the book. Hope you don't mind, but I don't want to post everything that is going into the book, otherwise it might limit interest or need for the book!

The Maurice Gibb bass is indeed a very special one, provenance and collectibility aside. It plays and sounds phenomenal. I was very fortunate to get to play it, but Andy is the real fortunate one!
