I agree with John with only one exception perhaps. There is a noticeable difference in tonality between a three pickup and a two pickup Rickenbacker, if they are wired stock. So with the switch in the middle position for a stock 330 and a stock 350 on and both having 21 frets, I consider that a difference could be heard.
With identical toasters on both models, 21 frets, switch in the middle position and the middle pickup off in the case of the Model 350, I think you would be hard pressed to tell the difference in sound between the two.

Peter, you are correct there.
But then again, probably no difference in sound between a 340 with toasters -vs- a 350.
This could go on for days,

Yes and it probably will John. I was thinking the very same thing as I wrote it but as the original question was 330 vs 350 I didn't go there.

Andrew, I used to live in East Kilbride for about 4 years then moved back to "Sunny Aberdeen" *cough*
You should be over the moon with your new guitar. The burgandy finish is amazing and will look great on a 340VP.
I'm arranging a few "Open Mic" nights in some pubs in Edingburgh next month.
I'll give you a shout with the dates and venues if you want to join in.

OK, this might be a bit of a stupid question, but I never thought about this before. How do the pickups work in a 350 with the switch in middle position? All on? Its easy with my basses(I'm really not a guitar player) but what switch positions turn on what pickups on a 350?

Not a stupid question at all. this thread, however, no longer resembles its original question. Three pickup Rickenbackers are wired in the following manner.
Switch in down position activates only bridge pickup.
Switch in middle position activates all three pickups.
Switch in up position activates neck and middle pickups.

I know East Kilbride pretty well Steve ........and sure, give me shout with the Edinburgh dates and I'll try to make one of them.
Hopefully my 340vp/12 burgundyglo will be here next week - can't wait!
