Howdy,

"LMKA" was a track I'd heard about for years. I finally heard it on the Anthology (I think) and was a bit disapponted. John sang nearly all my favorite Beatles songs, and nearly all my favorite Beatles songs are from the Beatlemania years.
That said, the rehearsal version of "One after 909" (must be 1964) absolutely rocks!! Reminds me a bit of "I Saw her Standing There" as far as arrangement and style. Why THAT wasn't released, I'll never know. Killer track. my two cents

the early version of '909' is fantastic.... its my favorite song to play live.... great straight-ahead rocker. The later version (1969?) on the other hand sucks bigtime .... IMHO of course.

Kent, I agree with you: the Let it Be version of "One after 909" is limp.

I actually prefer the Let it Be version of 909 to the earlier one. The lead bits that George is playing are very cool, and the song grooves better than the earlier one.
