Dave (or should I say Jeff), Was it painful to drill a hole in the gold Fender logo. The 80's P Specials were the first active Fender P's. I wonder if they will ever fetch the crazy prices in a few years that the 70's do now?
Candy Apple Red. Nicest color ever!

Jeff warned me the logo would be toast before the go ahead. Having other "collectable" fenders, this one was so far from stock it was painless for me. Besides the Serial # is intact/readable. This is a players Bass. The relicing/wear spots are indicative of that.

Many years ago I wanted to figure out a way to make my Gibson Victory Artist fretless bass into a 5er. I didn't want to drill through the logo. Then Wilkinson came out with the 4 + 1 bridge and string tree conversion for P basses. I think it was back in '90 that I took a chance to make it work and it did very nicely. The string spacing is not tight at all.

"You know there making a Jaguar Jazz bass now"
Those look SO awesome. I would not mind owning a Jaguar bass.

LOL!! Dwade, that's the wife. She would be a pretty good player if she would trim her nails and practice regularly, but she doesn't want to trim her nails.

Nice Vic, Joey. I always had a soft spot for those, though I've never seen one up close or played one. Takes me back to the '80s. Now if I could find one of those & a Hamer CruiseBass...

Actually I enjoy Drilling holes in pretty much any headstock ...
The 2002 4003 jetglo 4-2-5 is finished ... it is a lot like my 2001 4003 jetglo 4-2-5 ... the neck is a little fatter at the headstock than my 2001 ... but they are a lot alike ... the pickups on the 2002 are both about 12k ohms ...

LOL Jeff, I would take great pleasure drilling into a Fender logo also!!!
Kevin, that Gibby Vic is a very nice bass. I like those original '80 Hamer Cruise basses also. I had ordered one (the 5 string version) when they first came out...it never arrived.
