Wow...pretty bad video, and the sound is a bit lacking. But the historical quality is great! 
As most have said, I've always like that rendition of the song (I like the original S&G version, too). I was pretty impressed by the recent live version that I got on that cheap BMG "Extended Versions" CD, which I think was a reduction of "Union"...

I'm pretty sure the bass player for "America" and for most of that period of Simon & Garfunkel LPs was Joe Osborn, along with Hal Blaine on drums and probably Larry Knechtel on piano.

The Extended Versions cd I have is a condensation of "Keys to Ascenion" apparently...
Listening to America on that CD as I type. It's nice that my stereo can only play at one volume: LOUD!!!
An interesting part of this arrangement is that the time signature is changed to 4/4 from the original version of 3/4...

I have to be honest...I lost track of Yes in the mid 80's. So I have not heard a lot of the 90's stuff. "Keys" is one of those that I've missed.
Based on this live CD that I paid maybe $5 for they're still kicking butt and taking names.
I was just cruising through someones pretty comprehensive Yes page, and thinking there's SO MUCH I haven't heard...not necessarily Yes, but offshoots from them.
One in particular I've been interested in trying to find is Bruford/Levin "Upper Extremities". I have a DGM compilation "Sometimes God Smiles" with a track form that album on it, and it's spacey, jazzy and Crimsonly weird.
Squire's tone is always something else. I gave up trying to copy it years ago.

Chris's sound on Keys To Ascencsion is an oddity.
His RM sounds nothing like that on any other album, live or studio.
It sounds a little more warm or "creamy", if you get me - a lot more bass, and a lot less fuzz - I love it!
It glues together the song very well.

"Keys to Ascension I & II" are amazing. The studio tracks are awesome, and the live performance is really nicely mixed and performed.
The studio tracks themselves were re-released separate from the live album, a couple of years later, as "Keystudio". That's worth getting if you want NEW material (and it's very good) rather than live versions of old material, but the live versions are so well done . . . I LOVE their extended rendition of "Starship Trooper" . . . the dueling guitar/keyboard bit at the end is so cooooooool!

I wondered about that. Wasn't 90125 just a couple years after that video?
But Drama is definitely high on my list of top Yes albums.
