I guess I never had a problem with the binding since my arm rests on the concave curve directly above the bridge pup when I touch the body at all.
I never really thought about it much.
I did find the slab body of the '71 Tele bass I had to be uncomfortable, though. The same goes for the contoured body of my Peavey 5 string, I've got no anchor point for my arm.
I suppose that's another reason I only play Ricks & don't have a Fender anymore.
Ricks just fit better!
Beautiful Burg there, Jeff!

Glad you like, Steve. And I like your new Blueburst. Hopefully either you'll get used to it, you'll start wearing wristbands, or the edge will wear down some.
Thanks, Kevin! I'm a big Burg fan, but the 4003S above is Ruby.

I think I have the solution to the binding issue.
Gain a little weight so your potbelly will hold the bass up in a more angled position with the binding pointing more to your body.
Problem solved.

DOH! It's still a beauty.
That Trans Red 4004 side shot is fantastic as well. It really brings out the flame in the wood.

It's not a 4001S, it's a 4003S, and it's Ruby.

I developed a patch of hair on my right wrist that isn't matched on my left wrist, as a result of the abrasion caused by rubbing against the binding. (insert hairy-palms joke)
