Now I just have to find out if the vintage case is made for the 600 series as an "option" and pass the info along to MF.

Gene, the Tom Petty signature model 660 comes with a vintage case which could well be the same as the one you have?

I should have said 'vintage reissue case'.

My 650 has a silver reissue case. I believe that it may be longer than the ones for the other 600s but not sure.
47.5" X 14.5" X 4" outer dimensions. The lower bout of the guitar is 13" to give you an idea of the interior space.

So you've got a 600 series one. Case closed!

Yup - That's definitely what I have.

Nick - Nice play on words Image

I reached out to MF and they assured me thay would have a "plan" by today. They said they have to see what RIC says first. I told them politely that I'm not happy about all of this. If they don't have an answer to me by the end of today, I told them I'm returning the case *and the guitar* for a full refund!

I also reached out to RIC via e-mail to customer service. I haven't heard from them yet.

The feeling I'm getting, whether right or wrong, is, "You should be happy that you got this guitar. You'll take whatever case we give you! Now get outta here!"

Well you should be happy that you have a 350V63. No question there.

As far as the case goes? I am optimistic that there will be a happy ending to the saga.

I just received an e-mail from MF tech support. They informed me that they had telephoned RIC. RIC claims that the vintage cases are a "Universal" case and fit several series. They say that some movement is "Normal"

I wrote back saying that the Rickenbacker Forum folks all say that their guitars fit snug (like the one in the photo).

Does this sound right?

Whadya know! I just compared my 660/12 case with the 350 case and they are identical. Except the neck pocket in the 660/12 case has more tension on the velvet and so is less deep than the 350. Not an intentional difference for sure, just one has tighter velvet than the other.

Both cases fit both guitars fine, but the 660 case does let either guitar slide out of the neck pocket a bit. Neither guitar is flopping around loose inside the 660's case though.

Thank you Brian and Dean (and everybody else) for all of your help in getting to the bottom of this.

I never saw that case info on the RIC site - and I did look for it. Where is it located, anyway?

After corresponding with MF today, I did a search on the cases, instead of the guitars. This took me to Ed Roman's site. They listed all the styles and model numbers for the RIC Vintage Reissue Case. I found the same thing, "94530 - For all 600 and 350 series guitar models."

Err.......ahem.........ahhhh......hmmmmmm......
I stand before you (sitting, actually), a humbled RIC newcomer.........

I feel like a complete idiot! I guess that's just the way these cases are made. I still think they are a little on the loose side, but at least I know that I have the right case.

But I *did* say all along that this was a case for the 600 series. Nevermind..........

I'll go now.........

(Country Gene shuffles away, wiping egg off face).

The case information can be found under the accessories section of the Rickenbacker site.

I'm glad that I could be of assistance Gene.

I see it as I thought, the 650 is by itself.
