"Now to brush up on my old Genesis tunes... maybe Supper's Ready?"
Jason, while I was out tonight with my wife,(and my drummer tagged along), we had Seconds Out playing in the car. Any song off that would do..

Well I just came back from playing out tonight.
I promised myself that I would play the 4080 for an entire set.
It lasted for two songs...Man that thing is heavy.

For our second set I use my 5 string for the first song, then change to the 4080 since I need the 6 string for the 3rd song & the intro to the second song is just enough time to change. I then play the 4080 for the rest of the set.
It only really bothers me when I'm tired, then my shoulder starts to ache.
My 4001 is pretty heavy with the Hipshot on it & always was fairly heavy, so maybe I'm just used to heavy basses.
When I switch back for the third set the 4001 feels pretty light!

Hmmm. Maybe I'll do the Steve Hackett thing and sit down to play. It would make operating the bass pedals easier, anyway.

I find sitting for extended periods starts to make my leg numb where the edge of the body is resting.
They're not really practical instruments: the added versatility is more than offset by the discomfort & awkwardness, but I've wanted one since I first saw one & wouldn't trade mine for the world!
It's like anything else, I guess, some people love 'em & the rest don't really get it.
It sure gets attention on stage too! I usually get 2 or 3 people (sometimes really cute girls) standing right up in front gawking.

Girls? Well why didn't you say so? I'll have to rethink the whole band setup now... 4080 all night! Stranger things have happened to me on stage.

It's only happened to me since I got married (except for the wife, of course!).
Most often it's a drunk Rush fan or two.
