26 years ago as a beginner leftie I re-taught myself to play right handed (after learning just two Clash songs all the way through in "upside down" mode!) after I assumed I'd never see a leftie rickenbacker!! I guess its not too late to change back...... it IS Azureglo, afterall.......!!!

Devin, thats a nice bass, it almost makes me wish I was a lefty! Shipping should be expensive to go to Tokyo, but I have shipped to Turkey with UPS and to England with USPS with no problem. The Turkey one was a hard one, since it was a BIG box.
And by the way....welcome to the Forum! Please post pics once it gets there!

thanks, yeah, i've been searching for an azure-glo for ages, and the only other lefty azure i'd ever seen was on pick of the ricks.com and it was a fretless, so naturally i had to snag this one when i saw it, it's in great shape too from the looks of the pictures

Hi Devin, I have shipped to Japan (from the UK), it wasn't particularly expensive (£110) and it got there quickly and safely.
Here is some lefty eye candy for you...

holy moly, those are beautiful!!
I've seen some lefty 4001's here in MG and AutumnG but they didn't have binding and were selling for somewhere around $4,500 USD, not exactly a friendly price, even extremely dinged up right handed ricks go for about $2,500 here
i've got this bizarre obsession with blue basses, my Fender Japan Jazz Bass is also Blue

Peter, I was just looking at your site, and I noticed you travel alot in search of good lefties. There is a shop here in Tokyo called Taniguchi Gakki in Ochanomizu that stocks more than 90% left-handed guitars. It's where I bought my first Bass. A 2004 or 2005 Lefty Fender Jazz Japan. Funny, my second bass would be a Rick 4001
Left handed guitars are very very rare here in Japan, even rarer than in America, as you can imagine, I was overjoyed when I found this place. The prices are reasonable are reasonable there, and you can bargain a bit with the prices, The staff is also very very friendly, they'll let you play anything on the shelves, If you ever come to Tokyo, I'll take you there!

About the reasonable prices, i mean reasonable for Japan, most of there stuff is a bit more expensive than you can find in the states, but the selection is pretty good.
Don't be shy, come on over to Tokyo. Looking forward to meeting you.
