I think it will be exciting to meet, and perhaps even play guitar with, many of the wonderful people who make this forum such a great online hangout. I know I will be among friends! Image

I think i'm bringing along my best friend/drummer in my band. Anyone up for any jam sessions while we're there? Any good rehersal studios in the area?

I'm wondering about the logistics of flying with my Rics.... I have a flight case that will fit my 325, but I would also like to take my personal favorite (anyone wanna guess?), which only fits in its own case.... Will a regular locked Ric case (and its precious cargo) survive the rigors of airport baggage handlers? I sure don't want to have any regrets connected with this trip! Image

Hey Melissa - why don't you ship it out there ahead of time - maybe to someone you know who will be driving to the event?

John, we might be able to work out something where some of us can go jam in a studio. When will you be arriving and leaving?

Melissa, if you'd like to use David's suggestion, you can ship your guitar to me.

Joey, I think i'll be there from the 24th to the 27th, but perhaps earlier - we're considering booking a few coffeehouse gigs in the area.

Melissa, i've brought guitars on flights as carry-ons, in gig bags. Perhaps you and your husband could each take one as such, this way the basically never leave your sight.

Melissa-

My better half is agent for a major airline. I've heard and witnessed the worst of horror stories.

Unless the bag is a ATA spec AND fully insured, I would NOT send it through baggage.

Depending upon the configuration of the aircraft you fly, the bags are sorted and loaded into 'cans' (the containers that fit wide-bodies) or hand loaded by ramp crew into the cargo area.

My "toys" are required to be locked after TSA inspection, then are placed into another ATA case. The only problem is if it gets lost-then ya only get $600/bag (if flying coach).

You get better odds in Vegas!

IMHO

Joey, I might take you up on the shipping offer, as I'd really like to bring the 4005WB if I can.

I'm in if I can get some kind of guaranteed entry to all the events. I'd hate to fly from FL and find out Saturday night is full.

I think I could bring one Ric. Which one to bring?

No problem Jeffrey, just let me know for sure and I'll let you know where to ship it.
