Actually, speaking of the gear they list on their website, I think it's funny that the first piece of kit that Alex lists is a Furman power conditioner!

I've been going through a Rush phase again lately, and have rediscovered the 'Signals' album. Wow! Geddy's bass is VERY well produced on this album - right up there with some of my other fav 'Geddy's Rick' moments like 'Freewill,' Cygnus X-1, and a lot of the 'Hemispheres' album. I've also DL'd a bunch of live bootleg stuff that GL's 4001 sounds incredible on. Shame to hear that whatever he did to get such a good live sound was apparently a chore.

"...all boom and no definition..."
That's precisely why I don't like Neil Peart's lyrics...

I also read that same comment about Geddy's rediscovery of the Jazz's low end. That's all very well & good, and it does serve a practical purpose, but it is universally generic. There are a ton of basses out there with that same kind of curve, and all lack the harmonic quality like that of the Rick basses. And to my ear, the Rick bass compliments Rush's music & Geddy's playing much more than the Jazz. That's my hangup, but nevertheless, Rush's music has never sounded as interesting to me since Geddy dropped the Rick.
