I would have bought the 77 4001FL bypassed the cap and gotten a new pickguard, much more bass, but good luck with the bass.

I never considered that! but that woulda been a good idea! Too bad I didn't think of it!

Everything I have read about these Larrivee's was really positive, except the headstock shape! I dunno, I just thought I would go for something different. I am sure that a Ric will come along if this other thing isn't what I like. I don't like the confusion about the dots, however! The fretlessness doean't bother me, but if those dots are confusing, I don't want to be dealing with that.

Don't worry, I stil have 3 Ric's! There are other guitar makers out there, and this should be interesting.

Well that Larrivee was seriously damaged in shipment, or something, if you get my meaning. So I am back to looking for a fretless and I see this 4003 on ebay down to 900.00 but the doggone dots are in between the positions! I dont think I can deal with that! Will the 2006 be ON the postions?? I have a request for info and maybe and order at Ricpage.com, so maybe they can tell me. I can't imagine why they would put them between the to positions...I am sure they make the fingerboards......................

There is one on Ebay right now, with a $900 BIN, unless it is gone already, I saw it last night..

I didn't read the whole thread, this is probably the one you're talking about, right?

Yes, it is. Looks like a very nice one, though...

Yes, they have reduced the price several times and I am so tempted, but it seems wrong to have to white out the dots on the thing and put them on properly.....the fingerboard, I don't look at anyway!

Lucky. I would have grabbed it myself if I hadn't blown $400 on Reason software this weekend. That looks like a super deal. Cheers, K.

Dale Fortune will change the dots for you for a reasonable price, I'm sending mine to him soon.

Seriously, the Larrivee was ruined BUTTTTT the new Ric just came, new smell and all. THe only thing I don't like is the new case is yucky compared to the older ones. No cover on the compartment. Hey. thanks to those who encouraged me, this is a SWEET bass and a sweet deal. Can't imagine why the guy couldn't play it.....it is soo easy to play and sounds great. It is more growly than my 4001. I wasn't going to buy istsince I now have two MG basses.....oh well, and as for the dots, it is wierd but playable, I think. Yippeeee~~!~! Just played a few songs on it and it is awesome! Course you people already know that!
