Basically a great idea, but I think I prefer the ,,find out by yourself!''-method in this case. :-}
BTW, I found a few descriptions in the forum, seems like I have not looked close enough.

Jut one thing, the early 4003 basses (1980-1984) also have the old type of truss rods and although they adjust at the body end of the bass, you still must take the string pressure off the neck while you turn the truss rod nuts. They changed to different rods which they still use (I think) somewhere during the latter part of 1984.
I also use the between the legs method as it was put in that article and I don't find it cumbersome at all.

Welcome to the Forum Pablo, very nice score on the bass. The pickup cover was the first thing to go on my Ric's. I play with a pick mostly and the cover just got in the way. As for the neck - the flatter the better. Bob's steps are the way I have done it in the past. Just take your time - little bit by little bit. The first time I did it, it took a couple of days. Good luck with it.

It's funny, for years I was never interested in Rickenbackers, but if I look at all these basses here in the forum, I just realize that the most of them are real beauties. I'm still a little surprised by myself.
Perhaps I'll do some better fotos, this one was taken late at night. I don't have a good camera, but with a little chance I'll manage somehow...

Hi,
one more question. Can I use this one (in the middle) for truss rod adjustment?

It's a 1/4", but I don't know if it is too thick or if the angle at the basses neck, when you remove the TRC, is too narrow for adjustment. As a german I cannot order on the Rickenbacker.com page. I'd have done that, if I could.

Do not use that type of wrench, it's design lets you apply too much force on the nuts. Get the correct tool, you will be glad you did.

Pablo...as far as the truss rod tool...there is a german rick distributer listed under dealers on the rick site...

If they can't get it for you try some of the other european distributers or even some U.S. guys like pick of the ricks or northcoast music...they might ship internationally...dm

Perhaps I'll get one with the help of a friend in the US. The german distributor is momentarily not able to deliver this tool. I checked twice.
I heard about an english shop, but they only have a ,,T-handle'' trussrod wrench, but I think it's not the correct one, either.
Well, I know it's worth the waiting. Momentarily the Ric plays pretty well, but if I want to use it in my band I need to adjust it, if necessary.
