Your run-of-the-mill steel washer works also. I used vinyl washers when I did my V63. A couple years later when I went to de-shoe my C64S, I thought about making a special trip to the hardware store to get vinyl washers when it occurred to me that the horseshoes that my washers would be replacing are made of steel!

Still LOVING the tone! What a monster. If you haven't already...bypass that cap!

I agree about bypassing the cap, but I'll keep the horseshoes on my V63 and C64.
I recently went back to playing a Rickenbacker bass. Its like meeting an old friend again
