About a girl
On a second thought - this might not be the question whether she needs you or not and for what purpose, but whether you really need her or not.
There was a proverb - well, kind of - "When a man gets married to a woman, he hopes she'll remain the same. When a woman gets married to a man, she hopes she'll be able to change him"...

Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.

Sheena, never a truer word spoke! I like that.
Sorry I can't offer much advice on this one Nate. I met my MRS. when I was 15...and I'll be 45 in a few weeks, and I STILL can't figure her out completely.

If you buy a new Ric instead of buying presents/going out on expensive dates, etc, and you are told it is the best thing you have ever done and they love the way you play it, and support our decision to go with the new Ric, and love the way your band sounds with the new guitar... your there.
It doesn't get better than that.

You answered your own question right here####
Also she used to ignore me. I'd say I'd be over at so and so time and then I'd get there and she'd have an excuse or not be there. So I ignored her for a week, and now she doesn't do that anymore.####
Under no circumstances should you be a doormat or fawn over this girl. Besides being prompt, reliable, fun, and a Ric man, all supremely important, btw, be COOL. Act sometimes like you don't care if she likes you or flies to the moon. Don't do it all the time and don't be mean, however, a little of that come here-go away action will make her realize that she does care for you.....if she does. Just be busy and mysterious on the days you aren't taking her to a concert or carrying her books!

Chase or be chased.
You say you ignored her, and that got her attention.
Be aloof, you're a budding rockstar, you've got a certain mystique.
Don't give everything away.
Think Bond. James Bond. Kiss em, then push them away.
Or get down on your knees and tearfully plead.
Both work for me.
Seriously, it's a tough, win some lose some racket. But it's never the end of the world. Good luck. Helps to have a cool car.

Nate, all here have provided sound advice. I wish I had some to impart to you. All I can say is that I was in your exact same situation during my HS years.
She was tall, an athlete, and in my eyes drop dead gorgeous. Since we were both in track and other activities, we spent a lot time together. I fell hard for her. However, nothing ever came of it. She knew how I felt, yet somehow I had moved into the "friend" zone.
To make a long story short, we graduated HS - went to different colleges and lost track of each other. In college I met other women, fell hard again - got burned again - then eventually met my wife. We are currently expecting our first child in about a month or so.
So what am I saying? I'm saying is that despite all of the advice you heed, there is no substitute for experience. Unfortunately you're just going to have to live through it and deal. However, one thing you can glean from all of us is that there is a happy ending. Just might not be with this one.

Women (er... girls) aren't frightened little birds that will take flight if you reveal yourself. Just step up, Nate. Express your 'more than friends' interest. But don't make the mistake of saying things like 'forever' and 'I want you to have my children' -not at first anyway.
Put it simply and honestly: 'I'm interested in you and I would like to see where this leads'
And, of course, if it's not reciprocated you can tell her, "you'll never do this good EVER! Your loss!" (ok, maybe not
)
At any rate, good luck.

>>The good news: It gets easier when you get older. <<
When I was your age, Nate, I was skinny, shy, tall and awkward. I couldn't imagine girls would like me.
Now I'm 43, and let me tell you, Paul's telling you the absolute truth. Time is on your side. Enjoy the ride. It's a numbers game.
Some young ladies only like guys who are taken. Others like rugged, independent types (the whole won't commit act.)
Find the one you like, no matter how long it takes. And have fun between now and then. Ladies like nothing more than seeing a guy who's having fun, with or without them.

This is off the record
I've edited mine as well. Oh well. Interesting talk here.
Kaia, are you sure the moderator is not needed? You know, sometimes those threads can go somewhere south or whatever. Or, may i suggest, it could be fine but outside this Forum?
