Jeffrey and Chris

Noticed yours has binding on the front and back. Was that variation an option, or simply the way they made the 4005s some years?

Oh, you mean like mine as well, Tim? Image

It was an option - they're known as the 4005WB, or the 4005OS.

Yeah, like yours too, John.

WB = With Binding? Cool look, but one thing that bothers my about Ricks is that hard, right angle. When resting my arm there, which I often do not, it does not feel good. Looking forward to the rounded edge on my 4005. Imagine it will feel as nice or better than the edge of my V63.

The WB was an alternate version. In comparing both types the WB is considerably lighter in weight, so your previous question about neck dive shoud be moot as the heavier body on the 4005 you are getting should balance just fine.

You're not sick of these pics yet, are you?

Jeff, you bringing yours to the 75th? It's looking bleak for me.

Absolutely not - not even close. At this point in waiting for mine the more I can see the better.

What accounts for the lighter weight in the WB model?

No, I was thinking of doing so but I decided to travel light with all the security issues going on these days. More power to folks like Howard, Melissa and Darren for traveling with their instruments!

Question for Ed (or Tim), Chris, & Jeff: What year are your 4005's?

Tim's is an '82, Jeff's is a '67 IIRC.

Chris' may well be a '67 as well - this was the big production year for these. '68 too.
