I created a draft at MySpace yesterday. It is a work in progress. For some reason the songs that I posted did not show up on the site yet.
Here is the URL if anyone is interested.

Looks like you have a coupla friends already.
BTW, it just occurred to me that your band's music somehow reminds me of
this band. Cannot figure out why. Yes, i know they came later!

Not even close to the old band Sheena. Even though the singles released show a different dimension we were actually a much "heavier" band in real life.
We did a lot of R&B and blues based material as well as what is now commonly referred to British Invasion material.
That's one of the reasons I cringe when I hear this old stuff. It really does not represent what we sounded like, in a "live" performance very well at all.

I know, i know. It was just an association. Partly visual, perhaps. As always, i cannot explain why it occurred to me.
How about the live recordings? Did any of these "survive" or were they "lost in time"?

I have a "live" in the studio recording (except for minor processing on the vocal track afterwards) of myself with another "line-up" shortly after the demise of Meddy's People. It started off as a spontaneous warm up song. In fact it was partly original but the M8 was borrowed from an old song. It became a tune that I played a lot.
It actually sounds quite a lot like the old band in many ways.

Brian, I just listened to Sha la la la Lee, don't have the time to read the whole thread but thought it was a great sounding record, did you sing and play lead? I thought the whole band sounded good with the lead vocalist and lead guitarist being very good with an excellent sound for that era. It was a little too poppy for me, I would have rocked it a little more but besides that I thought it was really good, especially for 1966.
I got really good at centering 45's with my finger years ago.

Bob in this instance, our rhythm guitarist was the lead singer on both of the tunes posted. I sang backup and played lead on my Rickenbacker 375 FG six string through a Vox AC30 on Sha La La La Lee. I used my 360/12 FG on the other tune.
Thanks for your kind comments. It is a little too pop based for my taste as well.

Sheena, I am working on getting that other song I mentioned in this thread to you.
Work keeps getting in the way.

If anyone is interested (but why would you be I suppose?) there are now four songs that I have recorded, posted on this site:
http://www.myspace.com/brianmedway
Feel free to rate them, as I would be interested to read any comments that my fellow forumites might have.

Cool! Actually, i've heard all the four songs before... But you have 2 friends only?! That's strange... You need some PR, i guess.

Hi Sheena,
The site was and still is under construction. It was also somewhat disabled so I have not really invited anyone outside to take a look. I'll e-mail it to others when I figure out how to do that. For me that's a function of being able to spend some more time sorting out the site.

Well, it's easy, in fact. Either you, when you are logged in at myspace, chose a profile of the one who you want to invite (lots of them are listed in "Artists" section) and click on "Add to friends" button below the pic, thus sending a "Friend request", or just wait until others send you a request (for instance, if you post the link to your site in a certain thread in "Artists" section, you'll get quite a few requests, methinks

).
(btw, i get "friend requests" almost every day, from different people, music sites mostly. Still got no idea how people find me!

)

Good songs Brian, your voice on Photographs reminds me of Steve Perry of Journey.
