This is Alison. She was a lot of fun and very sweet.

She said it would be cool if I posted this pic of her here.
Alison and Kenny took good care of us on the bus rides.

Absolutely fantastic!! Definitely a highlight in my life.

I'd like to express my thanks again to John and Cindalee and all the wonderful people at RIC who played any sort of part in putting the entire program together... it was a blast!

A special thanks to Allison from "b" for putting up with me and being such a fun person to be around. Image

It was a tremendous weekend, and once again another great opportunity to meet alot of fabulous people.

To John, Cindalee, Ben, Allison, Kenny and all the others at RIC for everything that you did....all my thanks. I along with everyone else will be talking about this trip (literally) for the rest of our lives...a fair statement, I think.

Let's try this again. I had a whole message disappear while typing. I wanted to clarify my 9 out of 10 score, after some sleep and thought about the weekend RIC gets an 11 out of 10, the museum gets an 11 out of 10, and the HOB gets an 8 out of 10. Thus, my aggregate score is a perfect 10 out of 10!

So..................as we used to say. back in the day...........

FFFFFAAAAARRRRRRR OOOUUUTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have on good authority from a highly placed RIC rep, that they had tried to get HOB to cooperate, and I suppose the HOB DID try, but they were NOT ready when the bus arrived. The wireless wand did not work from the area they were trying to use it from. I am kind of surprised they did not know that before the event! They also were not ready with badges and wrist bands. The bus showed up and it was like, Oh ****, what do we do now? Obviously not at all RIC's fault!

I just want to echo what everyone has said so far. It was an unforgetable weekend and the people at RIC were such competent, gracious, and warm hosts. It's no wonder RIC International is doing so great. All efforts and planning are truly appreciated to a degree that words fail to communicate full intent. It WAS a weekend to remember forever, and we will.

Allison, you DO rock!

Thank you John and Cindalee Hall!

I would like to echo the positive sentiments expressed here. Major kudos to the magnanimous Halls, Kenny, Alison, Eric, and all the dozens of people I couldn't thank without forgetting a few, so I won't even try with my swiss cheese brain.

This was the trip of a lifetime, my best weekend ever, and probably won't be topped until... next year???

Jwilli - that is the nicest pic of JH! We gotta have a national confluence next year somewhere centrally located. And cheaper, tho for SoCal it was very affordable - and the pillowtop beds - mmmmmm. I wanted to swipe a pillow but it wouldn't fit. :D

The only downside was I could have bought another RIC bass but you all know how I voted. Besides, my wife was all for this trip, but another bass so soon.... I dunno!

I was only able to attend the events on Friday, but that was such a great day, and I'll never forget it.

Thanks to the Hall family and all RIC employees for allowing us into the factory. I am very glad that the tour was on a weekday, because it was a great experience to watch the guitars being constructed. Furthermore, I enjoyed meeting a lot of the employees and just being in the factory to begin with. The museum upstairs was quite impressive, as well!

The confluence at the hotel was just great. All of the guitars were very impressive (thanks to everyone who brought one!) I also loved the RIC case stands - I'll definitely be purchasing one (or more Image) of those in the future.

It was also great to meet a lot of you, and share the experience with everyone who came from around the world. My only regret is that I never had the chance to introduce myself to a few people. John Koelling being one of them... (John, I only saw your nametag near the end of the day on Friday, while music was still being played, and I didn't want to interrupt, otherwise I'd have said hello. Next time!) For those that I didn't meet, I was the one who looked like a 21-year old ;).

Anyways, Dale was great fun to watch. I think 'Twist and Shout' was one of the coolest moments of the day for a lot of us. When I looked around the room during that song, there were a lot of smiles and grins during the "ah" harmonies.

Kenny and his band were awesome. Excellent setlist all the way around, and the opening chord from AHDN was great to see live. What a sound! I loved the 12-string solo on 'Nowhere Man,' by the way... That came off very well!

The only bad part about Friday was having to leave at 9:30 pm so I could drive back to San Diego, go to sleep, and wake up at 4:30 am to work on Saturday!!

What a great day it was though... Thanks again to RIC and to everyone who attended.

How about one in the midwest sometime, Kansas (my home state), or Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, even maybe Colorado? Are there enough people here in or near these areas to get one together??

P.S. One question, and/or pardon my ignorance.. Those of you here at the Rick forum that have traveled long distances (ie: flew to a Confluence meet.) How did you get all your guitars to the meeting that way, lots of cash for extra seats on the plane? Just wondering.

Landon - most all who flew did not bring. With the recent escalation to Orange for terrorism, we all balked. No one was interested in checking their "Precioussssss".

Landon, I flew from NYC and only brought a cheap acoustic to mess around on in my room.

That makes sense... but......If you had a bolt on, probably have to be a Fen**r, you could take the neck off the body. Then stash them in your suitcase.
Then again, that could be considered suspicious to haul your guitar in parts.
