That quilted 4004 bass sounded very nice no matter which bassist used it all weekend. When the bassist that played for Susanna Hoffs and Matthew Sweet used that bass, he got a 4001/3 like tone from it that would have made even the guys that do not care for the 4004 basses including Mark Henson (Henny) say that it sounded great.
