if you want to get more low end out of the 5 string jazz then try seymour duncan pickups ... and I have an aftermarket bridge that would improve the jazz bass as well ...

congrats on the new bass ... it is a looker ...

Where do you get the bound ones?? Is it a special order thing? The only ones I ever see dont have binding.

You can go nuts with special order options on G&Ls. Colors, neck radius, neck finish, headstock colors, bound necks, bound bodies, etc....

They did just discontinue the 3 bolt micro tilt neck though (never offered on the L2Ks). I'm glad I got one of the last ones.

Oh ****! I was hoping this would have that option...That's a cool feature.
Here's the full-length pic. The binding is standard on this one, anyway.

Yeah, the 3 bolt micro tilt feature is nice, but I don't think those 6 bolts are anything to sneeze at either.

....and it turns out that I was wrong, there were 3 bolt L2Ks up until the late 90s or so.

Not that anyone cares, I just like to admit when I'm wrong...

3 bolt necks scare me I prefer 4 to 6 bolts ...

Ahhh, that 3 bolt weak neck nonsense stems from the dark days of mid-70s Fender production.

The G&Ls are SOLID.

Well, it arrived today. WOW. What a great-looking guitar, and the tone is.....well....earth-shaking! The setup was perfect right out of the case, the neck is narrower than my Fender Jazz 5, and it just sounds amazing. VERY happy with it!!
