Damn right, they're far superior! "They have the kick of an angry mule."
As for the "'60s" toaster under discussion, amongst other things the four corner screws on it should be slot-head, not cross-head.

6.3k ohms is probably correct for a 60s horseshoe ... that is about what my old horseshoe measured if I remember correctly ...

also I find the original toaster and the reissue toasters sound a lot alike ... the reissue ones are very slightly louder and brighter because the magnets are newer ...

Unfortunately I received my RI in pieces and I need to reassemble it. I have the screws to attach the shoes to the base but what size(and length)screws do I use that go into the bobbin?
