A very good job of reading the copy, Barry.

There are many, many polishes made for musicians to use on their guitars. StewMac is just another of the premium ones made. Martin also makes a good one.

Rickenbacker recommends Turtle Wax 123 liquid (it's what they use at the factory, too). It's only a few bucks a bottle and universally available at auto stores, hardware and home centers, too.

Readers of this Forum are familiar with my Scratch-X/Zymol treatment, which has been discussed at great length and which I consider to be an excellent method for restoring old finishes on Rickenbacker instruments, and which is also a terrific regimen when your guitar or bass needs a freshening.

Every guitar I restore or refin gets this treatment as the final step in finish protection, before I send the instrument back to its owner.

Here's a '66 325 that I just finished restoring for its owner, who has had it since it was new. It is one of only 6 made (Smith), and was purchased new at Manny's in NYC. In these photos, it has just received the Scratch-X/Zymol treatment.

Oh, oh Paul, now that it's beautiful, there goes the value!

Hey, can you refinish a 1953 human to look half that good? He has a lot of stress cracks, but has not been played much. Great tone though, particularly after football chili.

John, you're onto me...smoke and mirrors, that's my thang.

JGW, are you a Jumbo or a Dreadnaught? Jumbos have really great bottom end...

The back of that '66 could be mistaken for a Lightshow. Ooo, I kill myself.

LOL you guys... Paul, I just did a Scratch-X/Zymol job on the fretboard of the '72 'T-shirt' bass, turned out very cool. Many thanks for turning the Forumites on to this.
