The booth needs finishing, a bit of wiring left to do, still some wood trim, painting & door furniture & some odds & ends!

Hey Tony --- great looking studio. Where did that Rickenbacker artwork come from that is hanging on the wall ? Did you engage a local artist or buy it on the net ?

Richard: While we are waiting for Tony's detailed response, he is an artist and this is his work.

Tony how big is your vocal/acoustic/amp booth? Was it part of that room originally?

My studio space is even smaller about 10 1/2" x 12" !

Thankyou Richard...

John, my booth is 4'x5'. It had to acomplish three tasks...first, to be small enough to fit in the room...second, to accomodate & mic a sitting/standing acoustic instrumentlist so as not to cramp their style...third, not to be so small as to be clostrophobic when inside. I reckon that the booth is the smallest that can accomodate those three parameters.

I constructed it myself, as it wasn't part of the room. My studio size didn't allow for the thickness of walls to make it soundproof, so although it is actually pretty good in that department, it is principally for acoustic control. A small booth has to be acoustically dead, as the reverb in such a small place can be very boxy, so I have covered most of it with acoustic foam, which has done the trick nicely.
