Jeff: No, the poles are U type drive screws just like Rickenbacker used for years on the high gains.

I was thinking 8 string pickup as well, which is why I did the opening bid. I thought it would be interesting on my 4008 but not at the price it's at currently.

This is why I only bid on an item twice. Once to start the bidding and let the seller know there is interest, and the second time, a few seconds before the auction closes. Placing multiple bids during the days before the auction closes is like showing your cards to someone while you're playing poker.
