I do like the smaller headstocks and an s version of this would be heaven..IMHO...R

I'm no 4003 expert, but if that particular 75th is the bass I believe it is, John Biscuti (who is an expert) said it definitely had the thinner neck profile.

I only wrapped my hand around it briefly to feel the profile, and it felt awfully thin to me. Jeff Scott picked it up and played it, so he might be a better authority here.

Expert? Moi? I'm just here trying to learn like everyone else.

I can see that my fingerprints are still on it! The neck did seem comfortable but still not like that on my '67 4005WB.

What kind of amp are you getting, Paul?

I'm an old dinosaur, Jeff, with a space problem to boot. So, although I'd love an older SVT, it's gonna be a fliptop B-15-N or NR.

I saw a B-18N recently, but condition was not worth the asking. I prefer my amps to look reasonably clean. But, yeah, that's where my heart was in the '60s and it's still there.

I love '60s amps. I am not a SVT user unless one showed up on stage. I will soon be getting a Showman head to restore.

Good to see the first 75th bass again, Paul.

And for the record...I also picked this one up in the factory and got to check out the neck. It wasn't the chunky neck that found its way onto many 4003's from the early 2000's.

I didn't get to A/B it with any of my favorites, and I was sorta bombarded with stimuli on that factory tour, but the neck felt nice...like a C64 neck.

And the C64S that started this thread is the real deal in case anyone is interested. I played it last week at the CME. Nice neck, light, comfy body, great tone.
