The easiest way to create a demand for something is to stop making it. The S has become quite popular since it went out of production.

It also boosted sales of the V and now the C series basses. I am with Richard I prefer dots and no binding on 4000 series basses.

The are a LOT easier to make too.

You can cut fret slots right into the existing binding and it still looks just fine to my eye. That's what Mark did when he refretted my 360-12 to give me as much neck width as possible.

Great idea for guitars and basses bearing the Ric name, but not breaking the bank. $600-$800.

Wasn't that the premise behind the 2030 bass and such?

Also, here's another vote for the S-series again. Or at least flip the headstock back around on the C64. It doesn't have to be cheaper at all. In fact, it could be more expensive for all I care: I guarantee you I'd buy one!

Yes, reverse the headstock on the C64. DO IT.

Or else pretty please being back the 4003S.

I'm a big S fan too. But if RIC starts making them again, then mine won't be so unique!

But Jeff you'll have one from the first run. Yours came first. C'mon Mr. Hall lets get some "s" Rick's. Or "build your own Ric" color, inlays, binding (on/off), pickups and spacing even Reverse headstock (yes/or no) I for one would not mind waiting the ridiculous wait for something I designed.

The Dale and Paul "Custom Shop" is slowly taking shape!

I did have a notion of the reverse project, fret to fretless, for the 67 4001S I have. It plays beautifully, and would be perfect as a FL.

But, that may be just a little too radical....

I'm appeasing myself by ordering a new 4003FL when my friend takes my Spector off my hands... but what I really want is a fretless S (or V63) JUST like that one!
