Oh and sugar is not as bad as its made out to be, just careful moderation.

NO carbs may not be the best way to go...

Charly,

I have Type 2 as well. I am under fairly good control. I have incorporated a lot of whole grains into my diet and it has helped quite a bit. If you ever have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at:

A balanced diet with low glycemic carbohydrate is what is needed.

Essentially, all the fad diets do is cut carbohydrate intake of which sugar and refined carbs are usually predominant.

Get a registered dietician to overlook your eating habits if you find this difficult, and very importantly, take regular exercise!

I have an appt with the Kaiser dietician on the 15th. I am doing pretty well on my own so far. My reading was 108 last night 2 hours after supper, and 130 this am upon waking! Thanks for the page Andrew, I was going to get a book.

I love cinamon.

I don;t know what the heck that means but thanks! My vision is all blurry now and they say that is to be expected as the sugar leaves the body. Too much sugar in the blood improves close up vision as it turns out. I have to wait a couple of weeks for it to stabilize before seeing if I need glasses.
