And I'm overwhelmed! Image

$999 for a Duo Jet.... sheesh! I reckon my 'PW' special will eat one for breakfast, though!

To give you an idea about what's going on here, I ordered mine last Sunday and it arrived on Thursday.

The QA sign-off card is dated Aug 10, 2005.

Ok...here are the pics. The frets had oxidized a bit so I wanted to get it set up and polished before I posted the pics. This is the first Gretsch I've ever owned.

Very, very nice, Alisha! I reckon they are one of the sweetest looking guitars around.... I really like the proportions. And unbelievable value for money at that price!

Are they fingerprints I see next to the tailpiece? Tut, tut....... Image

This was a weird one as I felt almost a bit of betrayal since it wasn't a Rick but the price was too good to resist. Plus seeing all those pictures with George in the Cavern playing his '57 duojet....

Very nice Alisha. Congrats. Your puppy looks a bit jealous of all the attention that the Gretsch is getting.

That's the way Zooey takes pictures...it's either "asleep dog" or "you lookin' at me"? Image Thanks for all the nice comments everybody!

Hey. I nabbed one of these as well, and I am blown away by it. I've owned & played an FMIC Filtertron -loaded Duo Jet (I think it was a 2004 model), and it was nice... But nowhere near as nice as this G6128T-57. The '57 Re-issue is lighter (must be more chambered than the regular G6128T), and I LOVE the Dynasonics. They seem to have a good bit of the bite and body of a P90, but not nearly as much of the 60-cycle hum (noise). I'm thinking of replacing the space-control roller bridge with a bar bridge to get a bit more sustain.

This is an amazing guitar deal, folks. If you're leaning towards getting one, go ahead and fall over.

I ordered my Duo Jet on Sunday. I checked other retailers besides Musician's Friend and several other are already "out of stock and discontinued" on the Duo Jet. This is the situation on Tennesseans too. If you want one, you had better order one. They appear to be going fast!

Alisha and others, I would love to hear your comments regarding the space control bridge.
