The surround for the Re-issue Horseshoe has the same screw pattern as the surround for the 4003/4001, only inverted. That's why I had to mount my pickup ring upside-down on my V63(center). I didn't want to drill any new holes, so that's what I had to do. It ain't the best looking solution in my opinion, but now it plays the way I need it to:

Getting this thread back to the main issue here...
The brass version discussed is a very good reproduction, but still a reproduction. Mark needs a little more transparency in the wording of that auction as it could be interpreted as an original surround and it's not.
We, on the forum can see the small differences, but many out there cannot.
Still, if you want a vintage type surround, this is the best you are going to get, unless you get very lucky and find an original.
