I have seen all of these characteristics on older production Rickenbacker instruments that I've owned or restored.

Cool. Perhaps the guy that cut it into so many neat little pieces had something to do with the shabby appearance. Still a fun project. I have an old Fender short scale bass I'm about to begin restoring. It's in similar condition. Nothing like bringin' 'em back from the dead.
