My reply above was taken from a quote from another site. I always believed that "Fame" was recorded in Philly. I came across the above quote and posted here. I didn't necessarily believe it.

Not that all of this matter much...its the songs that take on a life of their own, and the artists never seem to remember much about anything. The Young Americans album was dubbed as David Bowie's Philadelphia Sound, and most of the album was recorded in Philly.

This info hunting can be dangerous on the Net, because the sites are often dead wrong also.

It might be hilarious to start a thread about lyrics we've never been certain about... Back in my high school band I used to mangle lyrics, or sing what they sounded like, just gibberish. Lots of lines by Elton John that I just never knew...

I've been to his site before Mark - many are indeed hilarious -named after Purple Haze of course - "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy...."
