Thanks for posting your Myspace link. Cool stuff! I've always been curious about how the 4002 sounded. My '76 4001FL sounds similar... the FL's seem to just want to sing on their own. One of these days it would be cool to hear (or even PLAY) a fretted 4002.

Thank you Mark!..I like the stuff on your page too...great tunes!the 4002 has the same pickup placement as a Fender Jazz..They are my favs but I'm a more than a lil biased to my babee..I added you as well

I wore the finish off by playing..Ive been a professional since 1979 making my living only through playing..I ordered my 4002 in 1981, she arrived April 82 and has been my main bass ever since..lol..she has lotsa "stretch marks", but theyre all there through my playing..the pickguard is worn through the top black,the second white and into the next black layer where my thumb sits as well

Those kinds of wear marks are always a sign of a well used instrument ..my 72 has similar signs of use ...
