When was the first PMC made? This has a 1993 serial number.

Re the PMC's, it is my impression that they weren't on any price sheets until 1999, mine was made in May '99. All of the ones I've seen have had the horseshoe surround with the thicker metal on the backside flange, common on later V63s from '99 to 2001....his bass has one more like the one that was on my '92 4001CS LH.
Peter's bass has sharper peghead points, the PMCs look a bit rounder than these. He says it's '93, I have no reason to think it's a PMC unless they were making them back then...
This bass of Peter's is probably something that the Japanese market requested, something just for them....along with 325V63s that had f-holes etc...

David; It was a good tubby, and the 18's in the p.a. sort of enhanced it..it's all good...R

I did wonder if it was a "special" that somebody ordered in 1993.
Maybe there was a run of them for Japan.
Maybe it's the original PMc lookalike.
Maybe not.

Ooooh. Had a gig last night, another one tonight. Not happy thoughts/memories about 18" EV subs...
But it did sound soooooo good!
The LH Ricks, IMO, look far better with the mirror image headstock. Oh well, I'm not a lefty, so all in all my preference has no impact on me!

I would like to see Ric turn the sharkfin neck inlays over for the lefty 4003's instead of leaving them upside down. I have a 4001C64 (dots, of course) and don't want a 4003 but I think it would look better with them in the correct orientation.

Did you have to carry them Ed?...casters are imperative, as well as no stairs...R

I hated carrying PA equipment up stairs. Never had to do it much, but despised it nonetheless. Thank goodness most places we did had elevators.
