Gary,

Don't cry. That fretless is amazing. I know how you feel though. I still think lovingly about the 4004LDS I sold to Tim. I am just so amazed at how comfortable these basses are to play. Great pics guys.

Andy, do you remember where you picked this one up? I'm glad it has a forum pedigree.

Re Scott J's question. I asked Gary at NCM about 4004 in AFG last week. He said chances were "Virtual Unobtanium" and about 3 year wait. Went AFG 4003 instead, tho...

D*mn, those are beatiful basses...

Hey, how come they don't make these with maple fretboards anymore? I'm a sucker for a maple fretboard.

I had an awesome 4004Ci w/the walnut wings that Dr Ted had repaired...It was a KILLER bass. i would have kept it too except that the walnut was too easily damaged by my playing style so I had to trade it...

D**n, I like this one!

But I would fit it with my own pickups and a new wiring harness.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Hey Jaymi, good to see you back. That bass is at Mikes Music in Cincinnati AFAIK. You are right, it is a great bass. I was sad to have to let it go but it had to go. Mike's was asking too much but he is probably ready to deal if anyone is interested.

Here she is as I last saw her.
