I recently watched the "No Direction Home" DVD. That no talent Dylan seems to have used a capo often.

After using a Shubb capo for years, I just switched to a G7th--one of my fun Christmas presents from my hubby! (The other one was the Baggs iMix pickup that was just recently installed in my Comstock by our local luthier....

!) Very happy with both gifts, indeed!

I've used G7, and I have to say that Kyser is still #1 for me. I have about five of them.

I use a capo quite a bit, partially for the sound it gives my acoustic guitar, and partially because I like to sing in keys like Eb, or Bb. I still have my old Hamilton capo. I don't think you can get them anymore. Although the design is still around, I believe. I also have a Shubb. I prefer the Hamilton, because I can just loosen the thumb screw and slide it off the fretboard, and park it at that narrow spot between the tuners, and the nut and just leave it there until I need it.

I'll second the Kyser. Works well, easy on, easy off. And it clips to the top of your headstock when not in use.

I took Jack's and y'r'all's advice and got a Kyser for my 12-string. Problem solved! And it reminded me that I used to own another one in the 80's, a bronze-looking one. Great capos.

I got into using a capo because of Johnny Marr. Loads and loads of his work in The Smiths is played at F#. He says in Rogan's 'The Severed Alliance' that this is because of Morrissey's voice! I use a Shubb BTW.

I have a Kyser Freedom capo, aka an American Flag themed paint job on the capo, and it is just excellent.
