What in the heck does having Eight strings have ANYthing to do with RIC-O-SOUND. Some people just amaze me with their stupidity.
Oh yea....Merry Christmas!
Ric-O-Sound could be even more useful in an 8-string Rick 'cause 8 and 12-string basses sound great if the signal is splitted, i.e distorted/clean. Just referring to the adverts "who needs Ric-O-Sound when you got 8-strings". I've always wondered why the Ric-O-Sound wasn't a standard feature on the 8-string models.
A cool feature would be a custom Ric-o-sound setup that incorporated an on-board crossover. The crossover would send the highs to one output and the lows to another for use in a dual amp setup.
Another positive vote for Willie's here. They know their stuff and it is the preeminent place to go in Minneapolis for a great instrument, repair or advice.
I'm just down the road from Willie's and in there all the time. They are a typical vintage dealer, one of two in town, that focuses on Fender and Gibson. They have started getting into old Ricks lately and are one of the only places in town with new ricks on the wall. Very straight and dependable guys, it's just the collector market prices of late that I can't keep up with!
