There will be feedback issues with small spaces.

But, then again, small spaces don't need huge amounts of gain...

Feedback is just something you need to deal with. The bridge plate transducer will be much more prone to feedback than the UST. Individual EQ of both pick-ups is desirable, so you can shape the sound of each pick-up, and EQ each pick-up against feedback.

Melissa, did you notice any loss of acoustic tone when you installed the pick-up ? The reason I am asking is because I have a really nice acoustic, but I have been afraid to put a UST in there, for fear of losing acoustic tone. Thanks.

Steve, the iMix system has an EQ control for both pickups. It is mounted to the guitar's back inside of the instrument, and can be adjusted through the soundhole with a fine-tipped Phillips screwdriver. I need to buy one with a longer shank, so I can experiment with that, LOL!

As far as I can tell, there is no substantial loss of tone when playing unplugged.... My Comstock still sounds great by itself--but now I have the added versatility of a pickup, which will make it easier to play in larger venues.

MWP set at RIC 75 really hooked me on the Baggs pickups. The Rick 700/12 sounded acoustic, but there simply was more presence.

The sound guy did something with the EQ (Bose handheld unit) on the fly for a couple of songs, and all of a sudden it sounded as though there was a vintage-sounding 360/12 in the mix, but it was the 700/12 again!

I remember that, Paul.... It sounded awesome, and clued me in as to how great an already great-sounding Ric acoustic could sound with a state-of-the-art pickup....I knew for sure at the 75th that I was going to get one for my Commie! I look forward to playing with the EQ settings on mine a bit, and plugging it into my Valvetronix amp and trying some different effects; I'm sure the sound possibilities are endless.
