Great one, Tony - I have it clipped and saved as a file. And Chris does know about these forums - his wife was given the url at the 75th and she gave a promise to check it out. Charly G. was the instigator. Remember the thread I started right after the 75th (early Sept.) with a post to Chris that others added to about his influence on us all?

30 years of listening to the man & his music, and it is still as fresh and new as it was to me when I first heard it.

I'd like to think Chris has read some of the nice things people have said about him here.

IIRC, someone said that Chris gets ticked at what some people have to say about him on the web. That STILL boggles my mind.

I have spent years watching Chris play and all I can do is shake my head in disbelief. Even if you don't like the music, how could anyone who is a musician not be amazed at what the man does?

Chris Squire is the complete musician. More than a bassist, he has always been an excellent singer and songwriter. His contributions are enormous. He even plays piano on "Run through the light" (the only Yes song to feature someone else on bass). I think if he is reading, he's probably thinking "Why all the fuss" which would show how modest he really is. I don't think he ever took himself too seriously, which may also be why he has survived so long in a business that can turn you inside out. I look forward to songs from Chris through Yes, Conspiracy or any solo venture or future collaboration that he may embark upon. As for the folks who disregard his contributions, to each his own but its their loss.

In celebration of the upcoming YES tour, I thought I'd revive this thread.....

WITH the DISMAL HOPE that when I go to see YES in Miami in August.......I can get to see the man himself......

Man, what I wouldn't do to try to get just to shake hands with the man himself.....any tips on how to get to meet the man?

ANYONE?
