The heat is on!!
As of last night I'm in a band with five other guys. We have to collectively select at least 8 songs before our first official rehearsal in just over 48 hours! It all starts at my place at 3pm tomorrow (Saturday) where no doubt there will be a few 'train wrecks' along the way!!!

Not bad, Shane. So far we've had 2 practice sessions and one rehearsal with the coach. Another practice session this afternoon and rehearsal tomorrow. It's difficult to coordinate sessions outside of rehearsal due to everybody's varying availability.
It's lots of fun but we've got a long way to go in 3 weeks!!
The set list so far is:
White Room - Cream
Better Be Home Soon - Crowded House
Can't Get Enough - Bad Company
Alone With You Tonight - Sunnyboys
Creep - Radiohead
Boulevard Of Broken Dreams - Green Day
A couple of backups also in case the set is too short - we're only on for 1/2 an hour.

So Aitch, you need to tell us, which Rick models you used for which of those songs, on your set list ?? Regards - Rich F.

Hi Rich! Haven't decided yet........ I'm doing the lead acoustic through the PA on Better Be Home Soon, so the Martin is definitely in!
I'm leaning toward the 350v63MB for the others at present but I've got to do some experimenting with the Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 they are providing for the gig. I'd like to use my new Gretsch, one of my Strats or the Gibson ES-335 as well but they're not keen on too many guitar changes. Then again, there will only be one change through the Fender if the acoustic is going through the PA.
I need clean for Alone With You Tonight and Creep (I'm doing the heavy vibrato plucking, not the thrashing) and something dirtier for White Room, Can't Get Enough and Boulevard Of Broken Dreams.

Two weeks to go and we're definitely getting there!
The song list has changed slightly - we had planned on doing Bad Company's "Can't Get Enough" but we just can't get it to sound right (do any of them???) so we've added The Beatles' "Come Together" and Santana's "Black Magic Woman".
Looks like I'll be doing some keyboards......... HELP!!!
I still haven't decided on which Rick I'm going to use...... the 350v63 or 330. The 330 got a gig at rehearsal yesterday and sounded great - problem is, so does the v63!!
Oh well..... maybe
both!

Have fun and good luck - break a leg. Maybe you can get a friend to bootleg record the performance and you could post a tune or two - just to get a flavor of what happens. Have a great time.
