Bob, here's a list of which bass was on which album:

Maybe he used just the EB-3 with only the bridge pickup on?

If you put a normal 4001 next to a 4005, it's shorter anyway due to the fact that a 4005 is tree inches longer than a 4001. I watched both YouTube videos and stopped them several times but the bass still seems to be a standard 4001S with a horseshoe and mono output jack.

Pekka what album was Radar Love on? It's possible he only used the bridge pickup, but even those on an EB-3 aren't very clear. I really like EB-3's though, they have a very fat distorted-type sound. Of course I've never heard one with RW strings on it either as they were pretty rare by the time RW's came into style here in the States. Maybe it's the way he plays it, his style or something. To me that bass always had a very Fendery sound to it.

Bob, "Radar Love" was on "Moontan". To be honest, if I hadn't seen that list I would have been sure he used his Danelectro Longhorn on it.

The Dano on the YouTube clip is anemic. I agree with Rictified - there was a bass in there somewhere.
