The last nice one on Ebay sold for over $2500.

I love my micro dot neck basses. They sound different from the standard 4003 and all three have excellent action.

Ted, it may have something to do with the painted fretboard. I know it sounds strange since standard 4003's have clear painted boards but my 4004 faux Blackstar certainly sounds/plats different then it did before the blackening (better). Maybe it's due to more paint on the fretboard since it's color and clear?!?!?! Just a thought.

IIRC the Blackstar, Redneck, and Tuxedo have all-maple necks; could that contribute to the difference?
