Sure Kevin!
My bass-playing co-worker has dibs on it first though.

Along with my pile of SVT's I've got a '66 B-15N - love it. Had a chance to try a B-15R a few years ago... like you said, they don't sound the same as the old ones, but I also thought it sounded fantastic. Electronically I believe its the same as the reissue V4B.

Very good catch!
I paid $1349.00 for mine.
Can you do me a favor and tell me if your Head and Cabinet serial numbers are the same?
Mine are Head - AJYDQ00001 and Cabinet - AJYDQ00002.
Ampeg has never confirmed for me if they were issued sequential or if my head/cab was swapped at the factory or the store they went to!

Hey Tony,
Thanks!
They sound great through my Ampeg B-15R Stack.
The Alembic is actually called a "Persuader".
They're Spoilers that Alembic used as a platform to showcase their "Activator" pickup/electronics systems.
I first played a Spoiler back in 1984. It wasn't till 1997 that I could get one and when I could I was directed to this Persuader. I got it from Bass NorthWest.

I miss the Hell out of my B-12... I needed volume and had no cash, you don't wanna know what I traded it for.

Hey Garret-
I've always liked your B-15R stack. Where does one get the B-15E extension cab? I don't see it listed on the Ampeg website. Did they stop making it?
I'm not in front of my amp right now, but I did check the serial #'s the night I bought it and they were the same for the head and cabinet. If you want I'll email you the numbers.

Garret,
Ok, I always mix those two models up. Thanks for clearing that up.
I really like that model a lot.
I have a 1981 Distillate. A fantastic bass but HEAVY and not too user friendly when played in a sitting position.

Hey Jeff,
Straight from Ampeg, "the B-15E was a limited run of only 98 for distribution".
You have to find one used.
I actually found mine in a music store in Washington that was being used as a rental, had never sold.

Hey Tony,
No need to apologize. That's why Alembic discontinued the Persuader.
The Spoiler is my favorite too.
Your Distillate must be pretty awesome!

Hey Garret- My B-15R has a light bulb on the circuit board inside the speaker cabinet. What's the deal with it?! There is no mention of it in the manual.
